How to trade in your Samsung with Mazuma

The Samsung Galaxy S Series has been wowing smartphone users for years now. But even the sleekest phones grow tired and old, and there comes a time when it makes sense to trade in your Samsung so you can upgrade to an even better, newer model.

Whether you’ve got a nearly new Galaxy S20 you’re not gelling with, an older Galaxy S10, or a practically steam-powered Galaxy S6, you can sell your Samsung to us. We’ll not only give you a nice bit of money for your smartphone, but will either recycle or sell on your mobile, making a Samsung trade-in an environmentally friendly choice too.

If it transpires that your phone isn’t worth as much as we thought, we won’t quibble – we’ll just send it straight back to you for free, no questions asked. That means the price we quote is usually the price you’ll get for trading in your Samsung, with zero hidden costs or inflated prices.

So, whether you’re clearing your kitchen drawer out and want some money for your Galaxy S5, want a savvy upgrade for your Galaxy S9, or want an even more jaw-dropping upgrade to your S7, sell your Samsung with us and you can’t go wrong.

On that note, here’s how you sell your Samsung phone with Mazuma in four simple steps...

  1. Register to trade in your Samsung

Select the model and gigabyte (GB) size of the memory for the Samsung you want to trade in. There are usually a few different sizes of memory available for Galaxy phones, so double check your settings, heading to ‘About phone’ (it may also be called ‘About device’). This section will tell you how much memory it has.

It’s important to get this information right, as selling a Samsung with more memory typically means more money in your bank. Plus, if you register too large a memory and it doesn’t turn out to have that much, we’ll send it back to you.

After selecting the model and size of your Samsung trade-in, choose whether it is ‘working’ (in either ‘good’ or ‘poor’ condition) or whether it is ‘faulty’, plus the network it’s locked to or if it’s unlocked. If it’s locked to a network, it can be a good idea to get it unlocked as these phones are worth more. We’ll give you more information on doing that once you’ve selected the network.

After you’ve made those simple selections, will provide you with your Samsung Galaxy trade-in quote, and all you need to do then is select how you’ll be paid, provide some details, and sit back waiting for the wonga to come rolling in.

  2. Get a FREE Sales Pack

Once you’ve sorted out selling your Samsung through our website, we will send a free Sales Pack to you which has all the things you need to get your phone to us, including a Freepost envelope and posting instructions. If that’s not your bag, then you can print a label at home and package up your phone yourself – whatever works for your Samsung phone trade-in.

  3. Post your Samsung Galaxy

It’s important you send your Samsung trade-in within 14 days of arranging your quote. It’ll take one to three days to arrive, and you can track it with Royal Mail Track and Trace to make sure it’s on its way. Don’t worry about sending your accessories – cables, earbuds, etc. – when selling your Samsung. Keep them on hand as spares for your new tapper instead.

  4. Get fast payment

After your Samsung arrives at our HQ, we’ll check it over and ensure the Samsung you’re trading in is the same as the model quoted. If it is, we’ll make sure the money is sent on the same day we receive the handset. With bank transfer, that can mean money in your account the same day, in most cases!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I trade in my Samsung with Mazuma?

At Mazuma, we want selling your Samsung to be as simple and stress-free as possible. We have great Samsung trade-in deals. The quote for your Galaxy is what you’ll get, and your payment will be sent to you as soon as possible.

Our Samsung trade-in program then gets stuck in recycling your Galaxy phone, removing its parts, and reusing or recycling them, or selling on your phone to a new owner. This is all part of our commitment to environmental friendliness.

What should I do before sending my Samsung?

To make sure your Samsung phone trade-in goes as smoothly as possible, make sure to do the following:

  • Unpair any devices like smartwatches or wireless earbuds from your Samsung
  • Back up your data and photos via Samsung Cloud
  • Sign out of Samsung Cloud on the smartphone
  • Remove all content and apps from your phone using factory reset – we’ll perform a second wipe when your phone reaches our HQ too
  • Remove the SIM card and any microSD cards you have in your phone

Can I sell my broken Samsung Galaxy?

With many phones in the Galaxy S series boasting super-sleek, all-glass exteriors, scratches, cracks and other bumps and bruises can certainly affect your phone. That said, we are happy to trade in broken Samsung Galaxy phones – a great way to get some money back if disaster strikes.

Of course, your phone might not get as much money as a pristine phone, and there are one or two issues that mean we won’t buy the phone – view our broken phone guide to learn more – but you can still get a good Samsung mobile trade-in quote for a broken handset. Select your model and memory size above to see what you could get.

How much is my Samsung worth?

If you want to sell your Samsung, there are a number of factors that determine the value of your phone.

First – its age. The older the phone, the less money you’ll get for the Samsung trade-in. That’s because there’s a higher likelihood we’ll be able to sell on your phone if it’s brand new and there’s a market for it.

Second – its condition. We grade phones as either good, poor, or faulty. If you want to sell a Samsung that’s in ‘good’ condition, it will be worth more, since it will have many fewer scratches on its display or case compared to a ‘poor’ quality one. Faulty phones will have features that simply don’t work – the battery might drain very quickly, for instance.

To view how much we’ll pay you to sell your Samsung to us, and how model and condition can impact the price, use the phone selector menu above, select a phone, then click through the various ‘condition’ tabs.

Trade in your Samsung with Mazuma today and get a no-nonsense payment in your bank account as soon as possible. Get in touch with our experts if you have any questions about selling your Samsung.
