When is Black Friday 2025?

Black Friday 2025 is on Friday 28th November, but many retailers will start their deals at the beginning of this week and continue them into Cyber Monday on Monday 1st December.

This event used to be a big time to wake up early, hit the shops, and scour for deals on the high street. Now, most people tend to do their shopping online, as it’s quicker, easier, and you can often get the same prices.

Whichever route you’re going down, it’s important to have an idea of what you’d like to purchase beforehand so the day itself is less overwhelming. If you’re proactive, you might sell your smartphone before Black Friday to have that little bit extra cash towards your purchase.

Is it cheaper to buy a phone on Black Friday?

It might feel like retailers are constantly offering sales or discounts on their phones, so is it really worth trying on this day for the phone you want?

In short, yes. Phone stores are often trying to capture customers who are using Black Friday to do Christmas shopping, whether as a treat for yourself or family, meaning they might be cutting prices even more than usual.

Black Friday Deals 2025

It can be tricky trying to navigate all the different phone sellers and the prices they’re offering for Black Friday. Here’s our simple guide to getting the best deals, without all the stress:

  1. Decide whether you want a contract: Looking at places like O2, Vodafone and EE will often mean you’ll be purchasing with a SIM contract. If this isn’t something you need, you’re better off looking at online retailers or Currys.
  1. Pay upfront or monthly? Again, this will depend on whether you opt for a contracted phone, but many retailers allow you to spread the cost of your new phone over months rather than an upfront payment.
  1. Be online, early: Many Black Friday deals are designed to end once companies have sold out of their stock. So, if there’s a smartphone you’ve got your eyes on, be sure to be online, checking your emails or phone notifications to see when deals go live.
  1. Get rid of your current phone: Whether you’re waiting to secure a new phone on the 28th or want to be rid of your device before then, make sure you choose a trusted, reputable trade in service like Mazuma.
  1. Get the most out of the day: Some shops might be offering deals on multiple purchases, so it’s worth looking into whether you get further discounts when you purchase a few items together.

Many shops have their Black Friday deals on display weeks in advance, so there’s time to shop around and see which offers appeal to you

Which phone is worth buying in 2025?

If you’ve been thinking about buying a new phone but aren’t sure which model to go for, the top mobiles on the market right now are:

  • iPhone 17: Available in the base, Pro and Pro Max varieties, the iPhone 17 was a big upgrade from the 16. However, due to it only being released in September, it may be unlikely to see any major discounts on this phone series.
  • Samsung Galaxy S25: The start of a new year often means a new Samsung release, meaning Black Friday is the perfect time to pick up the S25 if you like what features it has to offer.
  • Google Pixel 10: Launched in August of 2025, there might be some offers on the latest Google Pixel, if its AI features are of interest to you. Like the iPhone 17, the recent release of the Pixel might mean it doesn’t achieve the same level of money off as other phones.
  • Samsung Galaxy Fold or Flip: If 2026 feels like the perfect time to try a new style of phone, whether that’s one that folds or extends, the recent releases of the Samsung Galaxy Folds or Flips could be the way to go this Black Friday. There are many generations to choose from, so the older the phone, the more likely you are to save.

These are some of the most recent and popular releases, however if you’re not worried about having the latest phone, there are likely to be savings on older iPhones, Samsung Galaxy S Series, and Google Pixels.
