Anticipation over the new Apple iPhone 8 is reaching fever pitch, and with all the rumours swirling around, it’s easy to see why.
The speculation suggests that the iPhone 8 could boast exciting features such as wireless charging, 3D facial recognition and an OLED display.
Insiders and unnamed sources are also indicating that the device will come with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner that sits under the display, as well as an updated dual-lens camera and a new processor.
In short, the iPhone 8 is set to be a game-changing statement from the brand that has set the pace in the smartphone sector over the last decade.
No wonder everyone is so excited!
But if there’s one thing that’s getting our hearts racing a bit faster, it’s the uncertainty about exactly when we’ll get to see the thing!
The official launch date has yet to be confirmed, and quite frankly, not knowing what features the iPhone 8 will include and when we’ll get to hear about them properly is really starting to get to us.
But it might actually not be too difficult to work out exactly when our burning questions will be answered.
The Express has pointed out that there is a definite pattern in the timing of previous iPhone launches and suggested the next could follow suit.
Specifically, Apple tends to launch its iPhones in early September. Indeed, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were unveiled on September 7th 2016, while the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were launched on September 9th 2015.
Similarly, we got our first look at the iPhone 6 and Plus on September 9th 2014, while the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5 were launched on September 10th 2013 and September 12th 2012 respectively.
The Express also points out that Apple’s product launches tend to be on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
It’s therefore estimating that either Wednesday 6th September or Wednesday 13th September could be the days of the big reveal.
Of course, Apple could choose to change course completely, rather than stick with established patterns of behaviour.
We certainly wouldn’t put it past a brand that has a history of wrong-footing and surprising its loyal audience from time to time.
But there’s certainly nothing to lose by putting a circle around these dates on your calendar, marking them out in your diary and making sure you don’t make any pressing plans on these days – just in case!
It’s likely that we won’t actually get confirmation about the iPhone 8’s unveiling until the last minute, so it’s worth being prepared so you can follow all the latest developments and reaction as it happens.
By the way, September 6th is just 50 days from now, so if you want to start counting the number of possible sleeps until the big day, now could be a good time to do it!
