LG brings FullVision display to Q6 range

LG has announced that its Q6 smartphone will be the first device after the G6 to offer the FullVision display.

The South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer said the Q series has been designed to make some of the features of its premium devices available at a competitive price.

Three handsets comprise the Q6 family: the Q6a (2GB RAM, 16GB storage), the mid-range Q6 (3GB RAM, 32GB storage) and the high-end Q6+ (4GB RAM, 64GB storage).

As the first in the Q series to be announced, the Q6 range will showcase the combination of FullVision display with minimised bezels, which LG described as an “emerging trend in premium smartphones”.

The 5.5-inch screen with 18:9 aspect ratio has been designed to maximise display space, which is likely to appeal to users who regularly watch videos and play games on their phone.

LG said the ‘bezel-less’ design will also help to prevent accidental touching of the screen while the device is being held.

Other features include an ergonomic design and facial recognition software that, according to the manufacturer, allows users to unlock their phone more quickly and easily than with other technologies currently available.

The Q6 family also features a 100-degree wide-angle selfie camera and a ‘square camera’ mode, with which users can create collages using multiple square images.

Juno Cho, president of LG’s mobile business, said: “The LG Q6 is a blend of premium features, great performance and attractive pricing, a combination that is extremely important to us as we look at the way consumers are using smartphones around the world.

“The Q series is our way of getting the superb experiences with the essence of LG’s premium line-ups to more consumers’ hands and pockets.”

LG’s Q6 smartphone will be available in key Asian markets from August 2017, ahead of its rollout in Europe, Latin America and North America.ADNFCR-2155-ID-801837742-ADNFCR
