Customers of Virgin Media will soon find they have plenty to gain by trading in a mobile phone and switching to a newer model.
That is because the company has launched a new app for smartphones that allows users to take advantage of a television feature to the full.
It recently released the TiVo service for fans of the small screen, which it could hope provides the most comprehensive broadcasting offering on the market.
And now the TV Guide app will ensure consumers enjoy the technology even more, as it offers the chance to set recordings, view programme listings and find out more about episodes from a smartphone.
"We think Virgin Media's TiVo Service is the best way to watch TV and our new mobile app enhances that experience by ensuring you'll never miss recording a programme," explained Alex Green, executive director of commercial TV and online at Virgin Media.
In other downloads news, Apple recently confirmed it has now seen more than 15 billion apps ordered from its App Store.
