Canonical has finally got rid of its complicated tier system when it comes to selling the Ubuntu Edge and has released a price tag for the mobile phone.
The high-end handset could be yours for £447 but the good news is that, anyone who paid over that amount for the device, could be refunded. It hopes to raise just under £21 million in crowdfunding, but with two weeks left they still have nearly £15.5 million left to get.
Carnocial is probably hoping that the simpler pricing will help raise the funds with the limited time period left.
It said on the device’s website: “You wanted a more affordable Edge, and now you’ve got it.”
Although the specifications aren’t confirmed, it is thought the 4.5-inch handset will carry 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Edge is designed to outpower the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, iPhone 5 and Lumia 928.
