Selling a mobile phone and switching to a device with the network O2 may be a move that suddenly appeals a lot more to Twitter users.

That is because the company has announced that it is supporting the launch of Twitter MMS, which will allow mobile users to add pictures to the social network straight from their phone.

It means people will be able to share their favourite snaps or shots of what they are doing at any particular moment with their followers.

Sally Cowdry, marketing and consumer director at O2, said: "We know how much our customers love using Twitter via their mobiles and this service will make it that much easier to capture those special experiences and instantly share them."

O2 has a history of supporting social networks and has offered links to Twitter since 2009.

It was this week announced by O2 that it has opened a store in north London that has facilities for people to work from.
