People currently considering the purchase of a new phone could pencil in a trade-in with Mazuma later this year, ahead of the expected release of Samsung’s sPad.

A report in the Korea Herald this week suggested the electronics firm is to release its answer to Apple’s iPad at some point in 2010.

The firm is said to be aiming to sell hundreds of thousands of units in South Korea at a competitive price – which could see it take a significant market share.

It could then roll out the release of the sPad across the world, into key markets such as the USA and UK.

The sPad will run on Google’s Android operating system and models will be made with seven-inch touchscreens, which will be increased at a later date, the newspaper explained.

Samsung says it is dedicated to enriching people’s everyday lives through innovative and successful technology.
