Consumers can trade in mobile phones over the coming weeks and months in order to switch to a Samsung model that has been newly updated.

The technology giant has revealed that its Galaxy range has received an overhaul, with four brand new handsets added.

Its Galaxy M Pro, Galaxy W, Galaxy Y and Galaxy Y Pro will all be available to Britons and could be an attractive proposition for many.

Simon Stanford, managing director of mobile at Samsung, said the firm has taken steps to make the new devices easier to identify.

“The announcements … will build on the success of the Samsung Galaxy range of smartphones, adding yet more choices for consumers whether they want a top end smartphone or one with more basic functionality,” he stated.

Both BlackBerry and Nokia have added to their portfolios in recent days, each announcing the release of three new models.
