Music fans may wish to trade in their mobile phone and upgrade to a device capable of playing all the latest tunes to a high standard.
Tim Green, executive editor of Mobile Entertainment, says there is a “mutually beneficial” relationship in place between the music industry and mobile operators.
The result of this may be the provision of high-class technology for users to take advantage of when it comes to listening to their favourite tracks.
Mr Green notes the two industries have come together in the past to offer consumers great value.
“They have engaged quite strongly with it in the past through doing deals with operators to license their tracks but also generally the number of cross-promotions they do,” he states.
According to recent research conducted by comScore, more than 15 per cent of people in the US use their mobile phone to listen to music and the figure is rising.
