Trading in a mobile phone and switching to another deal may be the cheapest way to enjoy an enhanced data limit.
Consumerchoices.co.uk has issued advice to users thinking of taking advantage of their smartphone's ability to access the internet.
It suggested that checking the small print is always a good idea when signing up to a contract, while it is also wise to seek out Wi-Fi wherever possible.
Turning off apps when they are not in use is also a shrewd move, as many will continue to eat away at a data allowance as they constantly update themselves.
Dominic Baliszewski, expert at Mobilechoices.co.uk, stated: "Smartphone download limits, with the exception of the iPhone, can be rather stingy and the penalties can be over 10p per MB of content download over and above your usage limit."
Joining the smartphone revolution may never be easier, with Three recently announcing the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy S,Galaxy SII, HTC Sensation and HTC Desire S are available on a £15 monthly deal.
