More tips have emerged for users of the Apple iPhone 3G this week in an article for the Trusted Reviews website.
In news that may interest those looking to recycle mobilephones in order to fund purchasing the device – which is available on O2 pay-as-you-go packages – the advice notes some useful shortcuts for the handset’s menu system.
Firstly, it highlights one feature that may people may be unaware of – the ability to reset the double-tap action on the Home button.
It explains that in default mode, this will just act as a link to the home screen – as it would with a single touch, but adds this can be reset for use as a shortcut to areas including Phone Favourites.
"Just go to Settings, select General, choose Home button and highlight the function you want," it adds.
Another tip is for unfreezing the iPhone, should the rare problem of a system crash occur. This is done by holding down the standby button for ten seconds until the Apple logo appears.
"This can take quite a while, so don’t be tempted to let go too soon thinking that the process is not working," the expert concludes.
