Sony has unveiled its new high-end mobile phone, the Xperia Z, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013.
The handset has a five-inch Reality Display screen, which should be perfect for viewing HD videos and playing games.
Users will be able to download apps through Google Play, since Android Jelly Bean 4.1 will be pre-installed – an upgrade to version 4.2 will be available.
One of the most exciting features for British consumers is water resistance, which means texting at the bus stop in the rain should pose no problems.
The device also has an impressive 13-megapixel camera, Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities and “outstanding battery life”.
The Google operating system alongside a quad-core processor and 2 GB RAM should mean that device is snappy and smooth.
Buyers in the UK will be able to take advantage of the latest high-speed 4G network thanks to inclusion of Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.
