Sony is rumoured to be launching two new mobile phones in Shanghai in November, according to rumours from Chinese site Digi-Wo.

The first is rumoured to be the Z1S, which will be a spin-off of the flagship Z1 device launched earlier this year. It is expected to be similar to the Xperia Z1 Mini when it makes its debut.

The second new smartphone of the Japanese firm's production line currently has the code name Tianchi.

It is thought the device will be aimed at the budget-handset market when it is launched, however it will still sport an 8-core processor.

The 8-core chip will be MediaTek's more affordable 2GHz MT6592 or MTK6592, its first "True Octa Core" processor, as its A7 cores can operate simultaneously.

Sony's Tianchi is also expected to boast a six-inch 1280 x 720 display, with fans of the firm's devices keen to get a glimpse of it next month in China.
