In a piece for Trusted Reviews this week, Sandra Vogel puts the Walkman-branded Sony Ericsson W995 handset to the test and notes that although initially sceptical, she was ultimately won over by it.

The model was originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress event in February and follows other music focused models in the range like the Sony Ericsson W980.

Ms Vogel states in the past she has called for the manufacturer to concentrate on handsets that deliver an all-round feature set rather than just being concerned with camera or audio technology.

However, she notes the recently-announced Yari, Aino and Satio are a sign that this might happen and if this were to be the last ever Walkman phone, the company would end on a high.

"I can’t help liking the W995," she concludes. "It is not exactly a revolution, but with GPS, Wi-Fi, excellent music playback and control, and a decent camera, it’s certainly a feature-rich handset."
