One reviewer has managed to get an early hands-on with one of the latest phones to emerge from the LG stable.

Announced earlier this year by the South Korean manufacturer, the GD900 Crystal is equipped with a unique transparent keypad that slides out from underneath the screen.

This week Tech Radar took a look at the device and noted that although it shared some of the multimedia and interface facilities of the LG KM900 Arena – which was also launched in 2009 – there were some features worthy of note.

It explained that the build quality was “solid and weighty” and the integrated software was “responsive and slick”, adding it may even be better than devices like the Samsung Tocco Ultra.

“On early impressions we’d have to think the GD900 slightly edges it [over the Tocco] on overall functionality and […] the fact the transparent section is just cool,” the article advised.
