Selling a mobile phone and upgrading to an Apple iPhone may be a wise move by those set to take skiing holidays this winter.
That is because the Ski Club of Great Britain has suggested its official app is the perfect way to keep up with the precise conditions on the slopes.
It notes the tool can be used to track snow type and levels in the Alps, while live weather data is also available.
Lucy Jennings, new media manager at the organisation, says: "This cutting edge service will be invaluable to iPhone users who are passionate about snow sports. It is so quick and easy to use."
Since launching in time for the last ski season, the app has been downloaded 79,500 times and made it to the Top 20 chart.
A poll by Best Ever App is currently being held to find the ultimate iPhone tool, with titles such as Angry Birds in the running.
