Individuals planning to purchase a new mobile may like to sell their old handset to raise funds for the Xperia X8.

The handset is the latest offering from Sony Ericsson and it comes with Google’s open-source Android OS.

Timescape is featured on the mobile too, allowing people to access social networking sites at the touch of a button.

Product marketing manger Timo Maassmann remarked: “We are delighted to announce [the] Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 smartphone because we bring the best and fully featured mobile[s] for our customers.”

The handset may prompt phone users to sell their old mobiles so they can splash out on the new model, which has a user interface that allows “one-touch access and customisable environment”.

Mobile network Three recently revealed it is adding a trio of smartphones to its One Plan tariff.

Consumers will be able to get their hands on the Sony Ericsson Zylo, Nokia E63 and Nokia 5230, which will now all feature in the popular price plan.
