Consumers who choose to sell their mobile phones ahead of the holiday season might find they are in a great position to plan their trips.
That is because, presuming they upgrade to a suitable model, Ovi Maps could be considered a useful tool in preparing for a break.
It is a view that was recently expressed by Jason, writing for Nokia Conversations, who explained that the feature is the "most effective tool" prior to a vacation.
He suggested using it to plan the route of a road trip, lining up sights to visit and checking out a destination or hotel.
For example, he noted how he was able to identify specific spots – such as a pizza restaurant – prior to a recent visit to Oregon.
Users could also take advantage of Ovi Maps' navigational abilities if lost in a foreign city.
Alternatively, those heading to the Glastonbury Festival this summer might like to trade in their mobiles and switch to an iPhone or Android handset ahead of the event, after Orange recently launched its official app for the platforms.
