Leaked press photos of Sony’s upcoming Yuga smartphone have appeared online.

The device is also known as the Sony C6603 and features an impressive five-inch screen which is capable of producing full HD pictures in 1920 x 1080 resolution.

The images were captured by Android-Schweiz and it shows off what appears to be a glass front and back, along with a sizeable power button on the right-hand side.

It is reported that the device will be powered by a quad-core processor and ship with Android 4.1.1 on board. Because of the glass case it is unlikely that access to the battery will be possible, unlike with the Samsung Galaxy S3, but a 12MP camera and 2GB RAM are other impressive specs.

Sony will be hoping that this device can take the lead from its Xperia T phone, which has struggled to compete with Samsung’s flagship product and Apple’s iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.
