The update from Samsung, which allows users to free up memory on their mobile phone by saving apps to their SD card, is now available for UK users.

It is thought that it's a strategic move by Samsung to try and calm users who have been annoyed by the modest 9GB of available storage on the handset.

Although the device advertises that it comes with 16GB of storage, the amount that can be actually accessed by users is a much-more modest 9GB, which will quickly be absorbed by people who like to take plenty of photos and videos, nevermind using apps.

The update should do something to appease space hungry customers, but not all apps can be stored on the SD card so some may still take up precious phone storage.

Exactly when you will get the download is unclear and will probably be entirely in the hands of your network provider.
