Mobile phone manufacturer Samsung has lifted the lid on its latest handset, the Tocco Ultra Edition.

The new phone, which will be Samsung‘s flagship product for 2009, carries the model number S8300 and features an eight mega-pixel camera, a wide range of video support and editing features and high-speed internet access.

It also has the space for a 16Gb external memory card and has a full touchscreen.

Samsung claimed it was looking to build on the success of the original Tocco, which was the best selling contract handset in the UK during the second half of last year.

“After the monumental achievements in 2008, we’re looking forward to the Tocco Ultra Edition driving our business forward and showcasing our leading credentials for style and innovation,” commented Mark Mitchinson, SamsungMobile UK and Ireland’s vice-president.

Samsung is the world’s second most popular mobile phone manufacturer, according to ABI Research, with a 16.2 per cent share of the marketplace.
