Flora Graham writes in a piece for Cnet this week the South Korean manufacturer has put out an affordable option for many with a device that can be picked up for £12 per month or £130 on pay-as-you-go.
However, for this she states buyers – including those funding the device through mobile recycling – can expect to get a phone that offers touchscreen technology that is bright, bold and fun.
A lack of 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity is highlighted as a disappointment, but Ms Graham explains this does not mean the phone will be without a market.
"Compared to other phones in its price range, Samsung’s Tocco Lite is an impressive handset," the reviewer concludes. "The user interface is confusing in places, but, for the most part, Samsung has kept it simple."
The phone is available on a range of networks including O2, Orange, Vodafone and Virgin Media.
