Samsung has confirmed that it will be upgrading its Note device to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the second quarter of the year.

There has been a delay in the number of mobile phone manufacturers to have upgraded their handsets to the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, despite Google claiming it is working on the next two upgrades – Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie.

The upgrade will have features associated with the Android update and in the mean time the Korean giant has boasted of a customer version of the Angry Birds in Space game.

Vice president of the UK and IRE telecommunications and networks division at Samsung Simon Stanford said the game content will not be available anywhere else.

"At Samsung we always strive to push the boundaries of innovation and the Galaxy Note is a fantastic example of this. We are delighted to be able to offer our customers the Premium Suite upgrade," he continued.
