The 2013 Samsung Unpacked event has been scheduled to take place on March 14th at 19:00 EST (March 15th, 00:00 GMT), and it is likely that the Galaxy S4 mobile phone will be unveiled.
Rumours have been rife about the next-generation device following the huge success of its predecessor, the Galaxy S3, which sold more than 40 million units worldwide.
The device has also received a number of coveted technology industry awards, such as T3 Phone of the Year 2012, and Samsung will be hoping to replicate or better these accomplishments.
Speculation suggests that the smartphone will boast impressive and possibly class-leading performance thanks to an eight-core processor.
Samsung showcased its new Exynos 5 Octa CPU at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013, and its inclusion would mean a faster and smoother experience.
The upcoming handset is also likely to boast a superior camera, better battery and more memory alongside a host of innovative ‘designed by nature’ software features.
