It appears that Samsung will be releasing a mobile phone with curved display, before rival LG.

Although it has been a rumour that has been circulating for a while, Korean Asiae is reporting that the bendy handset will be unveiled next week under the guise of the Samsung Galaxy Round.

The device will offer a plastic display which will be a more durable and resistant replacement for the traditional glass screen.

It is thought that the Samsung Galaxy Round will have similar specifications to the upcoming Galaxy Note 3. However, there is still no estimation about what price the device will cost users.

Last week, Samsung was at the centre of some controversy when people accused the firm of cheating benchmarking tests for its upcoming phablet, though the company has denied any wrongdoing with the industry checks.

LG is also thought to be producing its own flexible screen-toting smartphone which is expected to land sometime in November.
