According to a brand new leak, Samsung could be producing mobile phones with much higher resolutions than the current models.

It is thought that the company is preparing AMOLED displays with 560ppi for smartphones as small as five inches and they could be ready for next year.

This is according to German electronic site OLED, which claims to have gained the inside information from Samsung Display chief executive Kinam Kim.

Although no specific models were mentioned, it would be reasonable to assume that these high-end displays could turn up in the Samsung Galaxy S5, which is set for a Q1 2014 release date.

If Samsung manages to pull this off, it could set the standard for the market as it will boast an incredible 560ppi and 2560 x 1440 resolution. This would put it significantly higher than the company's current flagship – the Galaxy S4 – which features 441ppi with 1920 x 1080 resolution.
