Samsung has revealed its Omnia M Windows Phone smart device that will take on the likes of Nokia's Lumia 800 and 900 in the feature phone market.

Its first Windows Phone handset of the year has no official release date as of yet, however, president of IT and mobile communications at the Korean giant JK Shin confirmed it would come to Europe first.

This announcement follows the grand launch of the eagerly anticipated Galaxy S3, which was officially unveiled in London to great fanfare.

The Omnia M will feature a 2GHz processor and a four-inch Super AMOLED display with a "contoured casing".

Mr Shin said consumers are increasingly looking for phones that combine individual style with the ability to share and consume all sorts of content through a plethora of social networking sites.

"The Omnia M meets all these demands, with the enhanced performance and social options afforded by Windows Phone and Samsung services," he continued.
