It seems that Samsung may have been too preoccupied with its legal wrangling with Apple to push for an early demonstration of the next-generation handset.
According to The Verge, mobile phone manufacturer Samsung is likely to keep its cards close to its chest in the run up to the 2012 Mobile World Congress, which is being held in Barcelona in February.
A source close to key players at Samsung told the website that while the international event is unlikely to be used as a platform to promote the new smartphone, Samsung is still planning on releasing the new mobile phone before summer gets into full swing.
However, the unnamed source told the news provider that this does not mean Samsung will not have anything new to showcase at the event.
This month, Samsung had the Apple injunction banning sales of its Galaxy 10.1 tablet overturned in the Netherlands.
