Samsung may be changing its design for its next mobile phone by switching its classic polycarbonate covers for metal cases in the Samsung Galaxy S5.

According to Korean site ETNews, the next Galaxy flagship handset will have an all-metal chassis which makes sense as many were disappointed with the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S4 had stuck with the polycarbonate case, though it didn't bother them enough to stop the device flying off the shelves.

Although it's difficult to determine where the Korean site got its information from, which makes it hard to see how genuine it may be, it wouldn't be a surprising step for the company. It would mean Samsung would follow in the steps of HTC and Apple which have preferred premium metal cases in the past.

Samsung's main Android rival, and the only main competition for the handset, is the aluminium-bodied HTC One.
