Samsung has reported that it is to release a device at the Mobile World Congress in February 2014 that will include a QHD display.

This display will have a resolution even higher than current HD screens capable of 1080p. It will feature a resolution of 2560 X 1440 pixels.

Samsung has not said that the display will be attached to its Galaxy S5 smartphone, due for a release fairly soon, however there is strong speculation that this will be the device launched at the Mobile World Congress.

It seems unlikely that Samsung would package the Ultra HD QHD display with a lesser device.

According to sources, the Ultra HD device will also feature an iris scanner, further fuelling the rumours that it will turn out to be the S5.

It would be odd for Samsung to release an entirely new device with these hi-tech features rather than adding them to the S5, but only time will tell.
