People who trade in mobile phones in order to switch to one of the greatest devices on the market should consider the Samsung Galaxy S II, if its sales figures are anything to go by.

The manufacturer has confirmed that the device has now registered ten million sales around the world.

This means it has doubled from a figure of five million that was reported only eight weeks ago.

“Since its launch in late April 2011, the GALAXY S II has seen continued sales success, demonstrating Samsung’s industry-leading capabilities in – and commitment to – the smartphone market,” stated JK Shin, president and head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.

The expert added that the mobile phone has become tremendously popular with consumers around the world.

Last week, Orange and Barclaycard confirmed the release of the Samsung Wave 578 – a mobile they have created that offers contactless payment technology to users.
