The next Samsung Galaxy Note mobile phone-come-tablet device could feature a mammoth 6.3-inch screen.

As users increasingly use their handset to watch videos, browse the web and play games, manufacturers have started to provide more display real estate.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5-inch screen, but if rumours found in the Korea Times are true, the next device will edge ever-closer to seven-inch tablet territory.

Huawei recently unveiled its Ascend Mate smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013, which dwarfed its competitors with a 6.1-inch display.

Samsung showcased a new eight-core processor at the CES, and there has since been speculation that this CPU will power the Note 2.

Features like Multi View, which allows the owner to compose a text message while watching a video in a pop-up window, might therefore perform better than ever.

Gadget lovers are also eagerly waiting to see if the South Korean manufacturer's Samsung Galaxy S4 device will have the impressive Exynos 5 Octa processor.
