The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 ‘phablet’ can be pre-ordered in the UK from

A phablet is a hybrid device which is supposed to integrate smartphone capabilities with the larger size of a tablet computer.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2’s screen is 5.5 inches. To compare, the latest Apple iPad tablet screen is 9.7 inches whilst its newest smartphone, the iPhone 4S, has a 3.5-inch screen.

Samsung will be hoping that the increased versatility of a phablet will attract customers. However, many people believe that the Note 2 is too large to be used as a mobile phone.

The SIM-free device is available for pre-order on the website at £544.98, and stock is expected on October 15th.

The UK’s biggest networks are expected to stock the product soon. Customers should then be able to purchase a contract, where a monthly fee will pay for the device as well as a SIM with voice minutes, SMS messages and data.
