People may be encouraged to trade in mobiles for the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which is soon to be released in the US and is already in UK stores.

There has been a delay in the product being available to US consumers, with the original launch date of November being put back a month, Business Insider reports.

The phone, which is a joint effort between Google and Samsung, will instead be coming out in December, according to Samsung sources.

An official date and the pricing are still yet to be confirmed, although it is known that the Galaxy Nexus will launch on Verizon.

The unlocked GMS model of the mobile hit shops in the UK earlier this month, as well as a number of other locations.

A recent study by testing expert Anandtech found the device is currently the fastest on the market after undergoing a computer benchmark investigation.
