Those recycling mobile phones for a Samsung Galaxy i7500 may want to consider the words of a new article.

In a review for Tech Radar this week, Gareth Beavis put the South Korean manufacturer’s Google Android-equipped smartphone under the microscope and said there are plenty of things to like.

He admitted it was a preferable option to the HTC Hero in terms of design and added a five-megapixel camera with flash helped the device to come across as “feature rich”.

Some of the faults of the model were listed to however, with Mr Beavis drawing attention to poor battery life and a pricing that really should be lower for a model of its calibre.

“The phone‘s main saving grace is the fact it’s packing Android,” he concluded, but added the HTC Magic may be “better value at the moment”.

Samsung recently furnished the Omnia range with four new entries – all of which utilise the Windows Mobile platform rather than the Google operating system of the Galaxy.
