The Samsung Galaxy Apollo GT-i5801 has a number of features that could appeal to individuals who are considering selling their old mobiles to raise cash to buy a new handset.

CNET UK awarded the device a four-star rating and said the mirrored finish “really looks the business”.

The phone has a touchscreen that comes with technology allowing users to pinch their fingers together to zoom into maps, pictures or websites.

Samsung has incorporated a DivX-certified video playing app, which means individuals will be able to watch films with resolutions of up to 720 x 480 pixels without having to re-encode them beforehand.

The handset also has an FM tuner – ideal for those who like to listen to sports commentary when they are out and about.

And according to the review author, the headphones that are supplied with the Samsung Galaxy Apollo GT-i5801 “deliver a punchy bass”.

Shortlist magazine recently recommended another Samsung handset – the Wave – to mobile users who like to watch films when they are commuting.
