There are often disputes between the big mobile phone companies, as they fight for dominance of the market. Old rivals, Apple and Samsung, have once again made the headlines for having a disagreement.

Fans of the Cupertino company have accused Samsung of copying Apple with the announcement that a gold edition of the Galaxy S4 will be released.

The American manufacturer has just released the iPhone 5S which is available in gold, this has caused faithful followers to come to the firm's defence when Samsung made its statement.

However, the Korean company is keen to tell everyone that they made a gold handset in 2004, before Apple.

The gold Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced in the Middle East in August and launched before the latest iPhone was unveiled. However, this is only half of the argument.

On September 24th, the company posted a blog detailing the history of its gold phones, the first which dates back to 2004. Since then, Samsung has issued gold-coloured devices in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
