Samsung is offering anyone in the UK who buys a Galaxy device a free app that is able to transfer your contacts and data over from an iPhone.

The common reason for people sticking with iOS is that they are unwilling to lose their iTunes or other data that is only compatible with Apple products.

However, the free app called Easy Phone Sync allows people to transfer contacts, messages and photos, as well as any DRM-free music and video.

There are two parts to the software, so as well as having the app on your Galaxy device, you will need to install some software on your Mac or PC.

Once you have transferred the data, you will be able to continue using iTunes to manage all your music.

"We know that traditionally iPhone users have been reluctant to switch to an Android device because they couldn't use iTunes to manage their content," a statement from the company read.
