Samsung's first Windows Phone 8 (WP8) mobile, the Ativ S, is now available for pre-order on a UK website.
The 16 GB handset costs £431.99 from Handtec, putting it up with the high-end prices associated with devices like the Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3.
The handset will also be available with 32 GB of internal storage, for those customers who expect to load their phone with applications, music and photographs.
Microsoft's launch event for WP8 is expected to take place on October 29th, so it is unlikely that the gadgets will ship before this date.
The online retailer expects stock to be available in the first week of November.
Speculations include a 4.8-inch super AMOLED HD display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM.
There is also Near Field Communication (NFC) support, which means customers will be able to make purchases in retail stores using their Ativ S.
Other imminent WP8 devices include the flagship HTC 8X and the highly-anticipated Nokia 920, with innovative camera technology.
