Dubbed the Galaxy Tab 2, Samsung has announced the launch of the follow up to its 7-inch Galaxy Tab, which could see a number of people try and sell their mobile phones to try and get hold of the device.

It will sport Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 2GHz dual-core processor, as well provide both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The tablet will ship with its Hub services including Music Hub, which has access to over 17 million tracks and Readers Hub for people to obtain e-books.

It will also be the first mobile device from Samsung to ship with its AllShare Play service that allows people to stream multimedia content to the tablet direct from their PCs.

"The new GALAXY Tab 2 (7.0) will provide people with delighted multimedia experience and allow efficient communication," the firm's president of IT & Mobile Communications Division JK Shin added.

Last week, Samsung confirmed the launch of its Tocco Lite 2.
