There is no doubt about it, September is going to be exciting. With Europe’s largest consumer electronics fair, the IFA Trade Show, commencing in Berlin on September 5th, the last quarter of the year is sure to be full of massive advancements and announcements. Here we have compiled some of the biggest rumours going round to let you know what to expect in September.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6L launch

It must be stressed that Apple has yet to confirm any news on its newest smartphones, but there have been murmurings for a while now that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6L will be unveiled at a media event on September 9th. The smartphones are believed to have different screen sizes; the iPhone 6 with a 4.7 inch screen, and the iPhone 6L with a  larger 5.5 inch screen.

If this isn’t enough to excite Apple’s advocates, rumour has it that the screens may be made from a synthetic form of sapphire. However, if this is true, the chances are that the cost of the smartphone will increase.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Unlike Apple, Samsung hasn’t kept its newest release a secret. The Galaxy Alpha will be available from the beginning of September in a number of colours including Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver, and Scuba Blue.

The Galaxy Alpha will be Samsung’s first ever metal framed smartphone, which will be welcomed by Samsung’s users given the criticism the company has received in the past about its plastic-framed phones.

Aesthetics aside, the smartphone will run on Android software and, similar to the Galaxy S5, will have a finger scanner and include a selfie camera.

Nokia Lumia 530

Microsoft has confirmed that its new release will be on sale from September 4th.

Perhaps a lower-end smartphone, the Windows Phone 8.1 handset will cost only £60 and includes a 4-inch 854 x 480 LCD touchscreen display. It will do everything that its predecessor, the Lumia 520, was able to do, although it will be powered by a faster 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon.

The Nokia Lumia 530 excitedly has a fantastic battery life, making it perfect for those who travel a lot. Users can expect ten hours of talk time and 22 days on standby.

Moto X+1

The successor to Motorola’s Moto X, the Moto X+1 is also rumoured to be released within the next month. If rumours are true we can expect it to come with a full HD 5.2-inch display, a 12MP camera, and 16GB of storage.

However, the most interesting piece of news that we have heard so far about Motorola is the fact that the telecommunications company may be releasing eight smartphones in total in the year’s last quarter. The eight devices will be : DROID, DROID Maxx, DROID Turbo, Moto S, Moto G, Moto X+1, Moto X Play, and the Nexus.

It’s unknown if all eight of these devices will make it onto the shelves, but either way, Motorola are in for a busy few months.ADNFCR-2155-ID-801745313-ADNFCR
