The new Galaxy S3 handset will house an impressive quad-core processor, which is expected to ensure the new smartphone is twice as fast as its predecessor.
Rumours have been flying around the net in anticipation of the latest incarnation of Samsung's flagship handset.
There is still debate as to whether the new device will sport a physical home button or not.
However, the inclusion of a quad-core chip is guaranteed.
Samsung has announced that the new S3 will boast its cutting-edge Exynos 4 Quad chip that doubles performance while reducing power consumption by 20 per cent.
"Already in production, the Exynos 4 Quad is scheduled to be adopted first into Samsung's next Galaxy smartphone that will officially be announced in May," the firm said.
Meanwhile, Hankil Yoon, senior vice president of product strategy at the firm, said the new S3 will have groundbreaking multi-tasking capabilities.
The device will be unveiled at an official launch event at London's Earl's Court on May 3rd.
