Phones 4U has revealed it has plans to expand its share of the mobile accessories market in the coming months.

This new focus was revealed by director of trading Matt Child, who told Mobile News:  “A good accessory range at launch can be a tipping point for customers buying a contract from you or not buying a contract from you.”

Stating that this market is worth around £200 million, he added that there is scope for retailers to place “a little bit more focus” on this aspect.

Mr Child also stated that the company plans to “champion” the cause of having more protection for smartphone screens, as these are large and the phones themselves are not cheap.

Earlier this week, Phones 4U was revealed as being the store with the exclusive right to sell the new Samsung Omnia M from today (August 1st).

It will be two months before anyone else will be able to sell the handset.
