A new survey conducted by InSites Consulting has found that up to 34 per cent of UK smartphone owners use their mobile phones while on the toilet.
The rise of smartphone uptake has been marked in recent times and people seemingly love the fact they can connect to the internet wherever they are.
InSites research found that 48 per cent of people use their devices while watching TV and a further 68 per cent revealed they get online during shopping trips.
The popularity of smartphones continues to go from strength to strength as figures released last year found that more than 50 per cent of the population owns a smart device.
Mobile expert at InSites Consulting Elias Veris said people in the UK are making more use of options such as in-store searching for competitors’ pricing while shopping.
“Users estimate that at least five per cent of the time they currently spend on computer and laptop will go to smartphones and tablets in the near future,” he added.
