Nokia has announced that its Ovi Store is now live for users of its Nokia N900 phone, allowing them to download a range of applications which could enhance the handset.

Old mobile phones may not have the range of features offered on the Nokia mobile so mobile recycling could prove be an option which allows people to get the cash for an upgrade.

The Ovi Store will be tailored to the unique features of the Nokia N900 and allow users to use apps such as live lyric searching app TuneWiki and live video broadcast through Qik.

Nokia is promising that more is to come but for now users are able to customise their handset through downloadable themes.

Ovi Maps and Ovi Games recently combined to allow N900 users to race around their neighbourhood or any location in the world through their handsets. Ovi Maps Racing is made possible through the phone’s internal GPS.
