Owners of a mobile phone may be tempted to trade-in their handset in order to switch to a deal with Orange, after the network implemented an overhaul of its internet services.

The company has announced it will reward existing customers with a £5 discount on their mobile broadband consumption.

However, it is the introduction of new payment plans for consumers that may be of most interest, with the firm suggesting it has responded to demand by creating 12-month schemes.

Those who sign up to the Dolphin tariff will benefit from an allowance of 1GB of data each month, while the Racoon package entitles users to 500MB.

Orange said it hopes the arrival of extra deals will result in a wider choice and more flexibility for its customers than ever before.

One device people could sign up to with the network is the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which it recently announced it is to stock.
