Consumers have been told that if they want to take action to help the environment, now is the time to do so.
Colin Butfield, head of campaigns at the environment charity the WWF, pointed to recent research from the Met Office that stated it could be too late to tackle climate change in five to six years if radical action is not taken now.
"If people are at all concerned about climate change and they haven’t been bothered to do anything, now’s the moment to do it," he remarked.
The WWF is currently calling on people and businesses to participate in its Vote Earth campaign, which is behind the annual Earth Hour event.
On March 28th at 20:30, people are being invited to turn off all their lights for one hour to save energy.
