Consumers recycling mobile phones could find themselves stuck between upgrading to the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the Apple iPhone 3G.

However, a new blog post for the CCS Insight page notes this is not a problem exclusive to the UK and both are fighting for their share of the market in Italy.

Paolo Pescatore explains having visited friends and relatives in the country recently, he noticed the 5800 is available as part of the Comes With Music package there.

He notes this is not the case in the UK, where the service is available on the 5310 XpressMusic and N95 8GB, but adds this could be an attempt to quash the desirability of the iPhone.

Mr Pescatore concludes that, although he expects the 5800 to soon be available with Nokia’s music offering, it is clear from speaking to Italians that "everyone wants an iPhone".

Nokia’s Comes With Music provides access to a catalogue of free music for one year on selected handsets.
