The Nokia N86 eight-megapixel camera phone will face strong opposition when it is released during the second quarter of 2009, it has been suggested.

In a review of the product, Stuart Miles of Pocket-Lint implied that the device will probably appeal to fans of Nokiamobiles but claimed it will have a difficult time if it is to stand out against competitor phones from other manufacturers.

“With competition from Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG, the N86 will have a tough job on its hands when it comes out in Q2,” he remarked.

Mr Miles said that Nokia did not take any risks with the N86, revealing that it remains faithful to previous handsets gone by with a simple design and interface.

The Nokia N86 was announced earlier this month and marks the first time the Finnish manufacturer has produced an eight-megapixel handset.

A video demonstration of the mobile has been posted by Nokia on YouTube.
